"I hEARD THESE CATS ARE ALOT OF WORK! "

Sphynx cats are affectionate, intelligent companions that thrive when their basic care needs are met consistently.

Fresh Water
Fresh, clean water should always be available. Many Sphynx cats enjoy water fountains, which can encourage healthy hydration.

Nutrition
A high-quality, consistent diet is important. Due to their fast metabolism, many Sphynx cats benefit from free-feeding or having access to food throughout the day, especially while they are growing kittens. Sudden diet changes should be avoided whenever possible.

Bathing & Skin Care

Sphynx cats naturally produce oils that are not absorbed by fur. Most benefit from a bath approximately every 1–2 weeks, with gentle wipe-downs between baths as needed. Each cat is unique, and grooming schedules may vary based on oil production and lifestyle. ALL OF THE PARENTS ARE ON A 2 WEEK SCHEDUALE WITH ME & THAT SEEMS TO BE PERFECT TIMING ONLY ONE I ADD EAR CLEANINGS BETWEEN BATHING ***  The kittens are exposed to bathing early! They tolerate this very well and even better as time goes.

Nail & Ear Care
Regular nail trims and ear cleaning are essential parts of Sphynx care. Oil can accumulate around the nail beds and inside the ears, so these areas should be checked and cleaned routinely, often during bath time.

Warmth & Comfort
Because they have little to no coat, Sphynx cats should be protected from cold temperatures and drafts. Avoid placing beds near drafty windows, exterior doors, or strong air-conditioning vents. During colder months, provide warm blankets, cozy sleeping areas, heated cat beds, or sweaters if your cat enjoys wearing them.

Indoor Living
Sphynx cats should be kept indoors for their safety and comfort. Their lack of fur makes them more vulnerable to temperature extremes, sunburn, and injury.

Social Personalities
Sphynx cats are known for being exceptionally people-oriented. They often seek out their owners, enjoy cuddling under blankets, and thrive when included in daily family life.

The Hair-Free Advantage
While Sphynx cats do require regular skin care, many owners find them easier to maintain than heavily shedding breeds. There is no constant fur on furniture, clothing, bedding, or throughout the home. Instead of daily hair cleanup, their care is focused on simple grooming routines that help keep them clean and comfortable.

With proper care, your Sphynx will reward you with endless affection, entertainment, and companionship for many years to come.
